Μaria Karatsoli graduated from the School of Engineering of University of Thessaly, Department of Civil Engineering in 2012. In 2015 she obtained her M.Sc. in Transportation Systems from the Technical University of Munich (TUM) with specialization in the field of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
During her M.Sc. studies she worked as a Research Assistant at the chair of Traffic Engineering and Control of TUM, as well as a Graduate Research Assistant at GEVAS HUMBERG & PARTNER, a transport planning company in Munich. During that time, Ms. Karatsoli took part in a number of studies including data collection with the use of ANPRs and Bluetooth devices and design of German transport networks.
Currently, Ms. Karatsoli is a research associate of the Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory (TTLog), PhD student of the Department of Civil Engineering of the University of Thessaly and PhD scholar of the Greek State Scholarships Foundation (IKY). Her research activities focus on intelligent transportation systems, road safety, micro- and macro- simulation of transportation networks, transportation planning, big data in transport and logistics. She has in her record more than 10 scientific papers published in journals and conference proceedings.
