Dr. Giannis Adamos was born in Volos, Greece. He graduated from the School of Engineering of University of Thessaly, Department of Civil Engineering in 2004. In 2006, he acquired his MSc diploma in Applied Engineering and Systems Simulation, and, in 2016, his PhD in Transportation Engineering from the Department of Civil Engineering of University of Thessaly.
Since 2006, Dr. Adamos is a research associate at the Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory of the University of Thessaly. From 2010 to 2015 he worked as a research associate at the Hellenic Institute of Transport of the Centre for Research and Technology Hellas in Thessaloniki, Greece, and from 2008 to 2011 he was a lecturer at the Technological Educational Institute of Larisa, Greece.
He has participated in more than 15 research projects, mainly financed by the European Commission and national resources. Also, Dr. Adamos is a substitute member of the Management Committee of the TUD COST Action TU1305: Social networks and travel behavior” (2014-2018), and member of the Technical Chamber of Greece, the Association of Civil Engineers of Greece, the Association of Transportation Engineers of Greece, the Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE), the ITE Transportation Safety Council, the ITE Transportation Education Council and the Association for European Transport. He has participated in numerous national and international scientific conferences and workshops, and he has in his record more than 70 scientific papers published in journals and conference proceedings and chapters in 5 books.
