RelStat-16, Train the Trainers & Young Researchers’ Seminar

On October 19, 2016, Dr. Eftihia Nathanail and Dr. Lambros Mitropoulos represented the Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory (TTLog) of the University of Thessaly at the “Train the Trainers” seminar which took place in Riga, Latvia. During the seminar, the 12 courses of the ALLIANCE “Sustainable Transport Interchange” program were presented in summary by the responsible Institutes (Transport and Telecommunication Institute, University of Thessaly and Fraunhofer) in order to disclose the syllabus of the program. Seminar attendees provided feedback for amending the courses and discussed with presenters the potential challenges that might be faced during the Summer School 2017 in Latvia.

On October 21, 2016, Mr. Michael Gogas, Mr. Karakikes Ioannis and Ms. Maria Tsami represented the Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory (TTLog) of the University of Thessaly at the Young Researchers’ Seminar: Sustainable Transport Interchanges which took place in Riga, Latvia. During the seminar, Mr. Gogas, Mr. Karakikes and Ms. Tsami gave each a presentation with titles “Evaluation of Urban Freight Transport Policies and Measures: The Case of the Urban Consolidation Center in Graz’’, “Simulation Techniques for Evaluating Smart Logistic Solutions for Sustainable Urban Distribution’’ and “Providing Guidance for Transit Managers and Operators in Order to Increase the Quality of Their Services’’, respectively.

The Traffic, Transportation and Logistics Laboratory (TTLog) of the University of Thessaly was represented by Dr. Eftihia Nathanail, Dr. Lambros Mitropoulos, Mr. Michael Gogas, Mr. Ioannis Karakikes and Ms. Maria Tsami at the 16th International Conference on Reliability and Statistics in Transportation and Communication (RelStat-16), hosted by the Transport and Telecommunication Institute in Riga, Latvia. Dr Nathanail gave a presentation on big data and transport.
